No wonder that Standard Chartered has been assigned the rating of AAA/A1+ by PARCA. And not that just, they also won the award for Best Bank in the country by the Asset Triple A for 2012 and 2013.
The bank surely knows how to provide customized solutions for their customers, be it individual or corporate. They have not only proven themselves as an established financial solution provider but by also keeping up the latest consumer trends and ever changing consumer lifestyle, they have provided innovative solutions and proved themselves customer-centric!
Another such initiative by Standard Chartered Bank is the launch of WorldMiles Credit Card for Travelers. The launch took place on October 22, 2014 at The Marriott Marquee, Karachi.
My invite looked like this:
The night was full of entertainment. After the Red Carpet (or well, Blue Carpet as SCB puts it), the opening act was an Aerial Silk Performance which was brilliantly done by 2 artists from Columbia.
The act was followed by Introductory speech by Naseer Hasan, Head of Retail Clients. According to him, the new Standard Chartered WorldMiles Card works in 80 lounges around the world. Isn’t that great?!
Later on, Shazad Dada, CEO shared some delightful words which would urge a traveling enthusiast to just grab that card because let’s be honest, who wouldn’t want to earn Free Trips?
You ask how it works? The Free trips et al? Well, It’s not something you would have to make efforts for. That’s right! Go for shopping or dining or whatever you love to and just use this new Credit Card and you get points. Then you can redeem these points against air-miles. And no, I have not even disclosed the best part yet (which actually got me excited!). So here goes: 10,000 Bonus Points for Activation. It’s a limited offer which goes without saying. (Here’s the link for more details.)
Coming back to my favorite part of the night, the entertainment slot but before I start and talk about what I enjoyed the most, an applause for the employees/stakeholders of Standard Chartered Bank for truly keeping the speeches short and crisp. It was banking and finance, and not boring. (That’s some achievement. Bravo!)
A floating and levitating man from Columbia was especially called for the event and for entertaining the guests.
This was not just it. There was also an impressive Theatrical Performance by Nida Butt Productions. Script was about a couple who travels to London, NewYork, Africa & Turkey. Hammada Whirling Dance was the last entertainment piece for the night and it was totally worth it. The act was concluded by unveiling the look of the new Standard Chartered WorldMiles Credit Card.
I met a lot of known faces from Advertising, Media and Digital Industry along with Umer, Waseem, Aisha, Erum, and the team of Movie Shoovy. Celebrities like Asif Raza Mir and Sanam Saeed were also spotted at the event.
The guests and media were then ushered for Hi-Tea and Networking session which brought this wonderful night to an end.
As a Marketer, I would say Service Marketing plays a great role in building a brand’s image. Standard Chartered has been very active when it comes to that, be it Consumer Engagement or Branding. It is indeed a pleasure witnessing Marketing activities not restricted to a particular sector anymore!
