PAS Awards are held every year to recognize and appreciate some of the best advertising campaigns. There were 27 regular categories and 4 special categories this year. The event was itself very vibrant and lively. It was pulled off successfully and the ambiance was better than the previous year (I especially loved the Golden Black theme for Red Carpet!). Congrats to Tanvir (Marketing Manager of PAS) and his entire team! 🙂
PAS Awards took place on May 16th, 2014. Although the networking time was from 7:30-8:30 pm, we waited for another thirty minutes to go inside the main hall. Meanwhile, I fetched some drink from the Cocktail Lounge which was sponsored by Pepsi. Met a lot of people from advertising and media industry. I got acquainted with Sundus Rasheed, Samra Muslim, Ahsan, Umair Mirza & Owais. .
Thanks to the sweet guy (forgetting the name, Sorry!) from Movie Shoovy who realized we are done with one day quota of talking so he got a picture taken of us. Here’s the group (Owais is missing):
And the show started around 9ish. I have listed down some of the winners. The show was hosted by Khalid Malik and started quite powerfully (Khalid pretending to be the boxer). I must say he’s an amazing host (He also made the audience do some exercise. I must have lost a kg I’m telling you!).
There was also an item number done by Mathira (and let’s just skip that part!) Well. Moving on to the singers, Arif Lohar started the show with a bang. Later Sajjad Ali also added some nice numbers (and the audio was played in a hurry – but we’ll just ignore the bloopers). Ali Gul Pir’s perfomance was good too. And the last singer was Asim Azhar (God knows why was he invited. It’s not like the audience was full of O/A level going kids?!).
Moammar Raana & Sharmila Farooqui while presenting the awards.
And the winners from some of the categories are:
(BEST ORIGINAL LOCAL CAMPAIGN AWARD was also won by Bank Al-Habib)
The rest of the category winners could be found here: PAS Awards 2014 Winners. The show ended around 1ish. It was pretty late. Around 12, dinner was served (and due to the rush, i decided to just stick to dessert which was the best decision because i got a cup full of heavenly Chocolate Mousse – how i wish i had taken a click, but honestly i couldn’t care less!)
VERY IMPORTANT NOTE:
When we were seated during the show, some refreshments were served. Whoever made that so-called Hummus, I just want to tell you STOP COOKING FOR HEAVEN’S SAKE!!
All right guys. I hope you liked my review. Please drop your feedback 🙂
